List of Regulatory Licenses you might need from SPCB

In India, setting up an industry requires obtaining several licenses and permits, including State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) licenses. The SPCB is responsible for regulating industrial pollution and ensuring that industries comply with environmental laws and regulations. The following are the SPCB licenses that are required while setting up an industry in India:

1.     Consent to Establish (CTE) - This license is required before starting any construction activity related to the industry. It is issued by the SPCB after verifying that the industry complies with the environmental norms and standards.

2.     Consent to Operate (CTO) - This license is required before starting the operation of the industry. It is issued by the SPCB after verifying that the industry is complying with the environmental norms and standards.

3.     Hazardous Waste Authorization - Industries that generate hazardous waste need to obtain this license from the SPCB. It specifies the procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous waste.

4.     Bio-Medical Waste Authorization - Industries that generate biomedical waste need to obtain this license from the SPCB. It specifies the procedures for handling and disposing of biomedical waste.

5.     Water Cess - Industries that consume groundwater or surface water need to pay water cess to the SPCB. The amount of cess depends on the quantity of water consumed.

6.     Air Cess - Industries that emit air pollutants need to pay air cess to the SPCB. The amount of cess depends on the quantity of pollutants emitted.

7.     Authorization for Plastic Waste Management - Industries that manufacture, recycle or process plastic need to obtain this license from the SPCB. It specifies the procedures for handling and disposing of plastic waste.

In addition to these licenses, industries may need to obtain other licenses and permits from other regulatory bodies, depending on the nature of the industry and its operations. It is important for industries to comply with all the regulations and norms specified by the SPCB and other regulatory bodies to ensure sustainable and environmentally responsible industrial growth.
